From a ruined canoe found near our friends' John and Lulu's garden in Diani beach - this piece was always theatrical to me - evoking opera stage sets, and ragged costumes, flames but also the spirits that are said to inhabit the beaches of the South Coast - so the dramatic nature of this piece is not at all at odds with its origins.
