Notes

The biggest piece in my Lamu show, and the most spectacular. It part of the floor of a large dugout I found on Nyali Beach near where I live, the canoe almost certainly originated in Pemba in Tanzania, hence the title. It looked pretty interesting when I found it and even more so after the termites in my garden had feasted on it - creating their unique intricate tracery like architecture.
